Respite Care

If you are looking after a loved one, there will come a time when you need a well-earned break.

We know how rewarding it is to care for somebody you love, but taking time out helps you get the rest you need to return refreshed.

It might be difficult to find somebody you trust to step in, or perhaps you need regular support that friends or family members can’t provide.

Our conscientious and experienced carers are ready to step in to provide Respite Care whenever you need them, so you can have peace of mind.

Key Benefits

If you're wondering whether the time is right for you or a loved one to organise respite care, then here are just some of the benefits of myCaringPOD:

Primary carers get the chance to rest, refresh and relax while their loved one is taken care of by a trusted, experienced carer.
Our respite care is delivered in the home, so there’s no need to suffer the disruption of moving to another location.
We’ll follow your instructions to ensure a continuity of care, and seek feedback to make sure you are happy with how we are looking after your loved one.

What is Respite Care?

Respite Care is care support provided when the primary carer is away from the home.

Primary carers may need cover for a variety of reasons, whether that’s to go on holiday, have a short break or to attend a regular engagement.

Often the primary carer won’t have back up in their wider family or friendship circle, so needs professional help.

Respite Care offers the perfect solution to ensure both the primary carer and their loved one have everything they need.

What does Respite Care include?

When we work with people who need Respite Care, we are always guided by them.

As the primary carer, you’ll have the best understanding of all the tasks that need to be taken care of while you are away from the home.

Our Respite Care work often includes, but is not limited to:

Social Care

Our kind, experienced carers can help people with personal tasks such as washing, dressing, continence and nutrition, as well as providing companionship. For a full breakdown of the support on offer, please visit our dedicated Social Care page.

Household help

We’ll look after all the domestic tasks and keep your home clean and tidy. You can let us know exactly how you like things done and we’ll take care of the rest. Find out more about the Household Help we offer here.

Specialist Care

We ensure people have regular meals by shopping, prepping and serving meals. If people find it difficult to chew or swallow, we can help them with a soft diet or support with feeding, if appropriate.

How do I book Respite Care?

At MyCaringPOD, we make it simple to get the care you need via our user-friendly platform.

Respite Care can be provided in three different ways:

Live In Respite Care

Our carers will move into the home and look after your loved one full time, although the care isn’t 24/7, you can reassured they are there when needed.

Regular Visits

If your loved one needs support at regular intervals, our carers will visit them as often as needs be.

Longer Shifts

It might be appropriate for carers to work longer shifts to cover all the care that needs to be provided. Longer shifts are often booked when people require specialist care.

What does Respite Care cost?

Respite Care is priced according to bespoke needs of the person we’re looking after.

Our fee structure is transparent, so you can budget for the breaks you need.

The platform enables you to book care by the hour, which is a great solution for those who seek regular Respite Care support.
